Carolyn Jacobs has practiced health care law exclusively since 1985 representing hospitals, health systems, long term care and other institutional and individual health care providers. Ms. Jacobs provides transactional and regulatory advice to health care providers as they face an increasingly regulated and constantly changing regulatory environment. Areas in which Ms. Jacobs assists clients include general business and employment matters and contracts, corporate and regulatory compliance, patient care and confidentiality issues (including HIPAA compliance), clinical research, Federal and state anti-kickback and self-referral analysis, credentialing matters, licensing and certification, Certificate of Need matters and Medicare and Medicaid compliance and reimbursement. Ms. Jacobs regularly represents Maryland health care providers before the Maryland Health Care Commission. In addition, she represents individual providers in front of their respective licensing boards.
Ms. Jacobs is an Order of the Coif graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law and a member of the Maryland State Bar Association. She also has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
