Retired Judge Edgar P. Silver, known widely in Maryland political circles simply as “the Judge,” has had a remarkable and successful career in law and politics. Elected to the Maryland General Assembly in 1954, Judge Silver served on the House Judiciary Committee for eight years, the House Ways and Means Committee for three years, and on the Standing Committee on Motor Vehicles as its chairman for ten years. He was appointed to the Baltimore City Municipal Court (which became the District Court) in 1965. In 1975, Governor Blair Lee appointed him to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Judge Silver has been honored by numerous charitable and community groups over the past 25 years and has been associated in an “of counsel” role with the firm since its inception.
